One of our Banbury Courts in action

Fakenham Squash Club has approximately 170 members (September 2008).

We have two ‘Banbury’ courts with a small viewing gallery, which are well-lit, heated in winter, and maintained to a good standard.

Courts are normally available for 45 minute sessions every day from 9.15 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. The exceptions are on days when race meetings are held, when courts are not available until 6.00 p.m., and when club events are taking place (club nights, matches, junior etc sessions). The Sports Centre is closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and closes early on New Year’s Eve.

The club has a qualified Level 2 coach and two qualified Level 1 coaches. It runs weekly club nights on a Thursday evening, fun competitions, junior squash sessions on a Saturday morning, and it also runs teams in the Norfolk winter and summer inter-club leagues. It also has a professional practice machine – the Squash Cannon – believed to be only one of two in the country. See separate sections for more information on all of these.
